nyaiden is the designer this critical link is based on, the parts I want to take from his designs are the angular sci fi look which doesn't have much of a function but still looks cool



03-01 MASK

i started meshing out the basic shape of the mask using drawing references and my research sheets




once i reached a stage where i was able to start texturing i attempted to texture realistically
the result led to many problems the main one being the "model" i had in mind uses cell shading so the end result would look abnormal

so i made a cell shader and used that to texture.

03-02 MODEL

i started meshing out a basic face by extruding vertices which were then filled with faces. leaving spaces for the eyes to be.

head topology

i textured the head using the same cell shader i made for the mask but changing the colours to resemble skin

the eyes and eye brows were made by using planes with shadows off.
then textured using by using UV's on a 2D images created in photoshop


the hair was made by modelling a single block of hair and duplicating and manipulating the shape accross the head
